Defending Truth In A World of Lies

Did the FBI experience a data breach?

I suppose that headline would be a bit more shocking if it had been printed a couple of decades ago considering the state of our inept, corrupt Marxist attack dog that is our Federal Bureau of Investigation today. That realization kind of makes it much easier to believe that some anonymous cyber criminal defeated the security of their systems and was able to steal data.

In this case, the data in question is claimed to be an approximately 2 gigabyte text file that contains about 26,000 lines and includes information about FBI employees. Sounds like that could be a juicy one!

This data has reportedly been made available online and was advertised in a well-known “marketplace” website called “Breach Forums” where things like this are advertised by cyber criminals who have managed to pilfer data from various online locations.

The only bit of data this particular cyber criminal offered in the forum post was that the average salary of FBI employees included in this data dump is $119,000 per year. Not bad and frankly I am surprised it is not even higher considering how our Federal Government likes to spew money like an out-of-control firehose.

The FBI is advertised as one of the world’s most sophisticated and effective law enforcement agencies and one of their responsibilities is the investigation of cyber crime. I guess a breach like this tends to make them look a little silly, doesn’t it? Considering what our once admired and respected FBI has become, they have a lot more to worry about than a data breach.
